Quick & Easy: Classic Vegan Chocolate Brownies

It's National Baking Week and we are baking up a storm at Ethica HQ. This delicious brownie recipe is courtesy of my cookie queen of a best friend (she is also a brownie queen!). These brownies are rich and moist and all round delicious as well as super easy to make. Win!

Tip: For extra yummy times add a cup of vegan chocolate chips or some chopped Pecans


Makes 12 brownies

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Preparation time:

5 minutes

Cooking time:

40 minutes



Preheat your oven to 177 ° C. Line an 8"x12" baking tray with baking parchment and mix all of your ingredients together in a bowl. Once mixed pour into your lined baking tray and bake for 40 minutes.

Once out of the oven let the brownies cool before turning them out on a flat surface and cutting into squares. The hardest part of this recipe is waiting for the brownies to cool!
