Launched in time for World Environment Day 2018 (June 5th), The Fine Bedding Company's 100% recycled material duvet has gone on sale at Debenhams, in store and online.
The ECO Duvet is made with micro fibres created from processing plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in a landfill or floating in the world’s seas.
Added to this is a 100% recycled microfibre cover, all packaged in a recycled box / bag inscribed with water-based ink.
The ECO Duvet can be washed in a domestic washing machine, dries quickly, is hypoallergenic, highly breathable with layered fibres providing weightless warmth. It has a good price point, starting at £45 for a single 10.5 tog duvet.
Made from 120 PET bottles, the ECO Duvet is produced at The Fine Bedding Company’s Eco Factory using 100% renewable energy sources and has up to a 44% lower carbon footprint than the polyester industry standard duvet.
Claire Watkin from The Fine Bedding Company says: “ECO Duvet is a major step forward for the filled bedding industry – in fact we believe this is the first truly 100% recycled duvet, and a pillow is soon to follow. Consumers can now genuinely opt for an environmentally-friendly product that feels and performs as well as any less sustainable products on the market.”
Richard Jones, Trading Director for Global Sourcing at Debenhams, said: “We are delighted to be the first UK high street retailer to stock the new 100% recycled ECO Duvet which offers customers a quality product and addresses the issue of recycling plastic for future use.”
The Eco Duvet is exclusively stocked in Debenhams stores, on Debenhams online and online on the Fine Bedding Company website.
