Red lipstick is a classic that never goes out of fashion. Blue, orange or pink based red hues suit everyone, you just need to find the right shade one for you.
For years it was difficult to find a vegan red lipstick on the market, due to the inclusion of carmine and beeswax in its formula, but these days there are plenty of brands that offer vegan alternatives.
So pick your favourite one, be bold, wear red!
I have a confession to make, I came to Kat Von D Beauty a little late, but once I did there was no going back. I absolutely love the brand and the lipsticks, which come in a huge range of colours. This brick red shade is really rich and seductive, it's long lasting and suits most skin tones. £17
I've recently got acquainted with beauty brand Milani and I'm sold. I absolutely love their lipsticks. They are packed with pigment, easy to apply, affordable and the colour won't budge. They also have a huge selection of hues available, including several reds. Devotion is a dark, blue based red suitable for all skin colours and tones. Check out Amore too, a bright blue based red, or Passion, a matte lipstick that unlike most orange-based reds, suits most. £8.95
Another brand I love, Hourglass has a beautiful selection of red shades. I Crave is a gorgeous, intense red that will get you noticed. It's refillable too, meaning less waste, and the packaging is terribly chic. £28
Packed with pigment and highly moisturising this is the perfect every day red. It does require a few applications during the day, but as it's full of emollients you won't need to apply lip balm. £12.99
Lime Crime has a fantastic range of reds, but New Americana will really make an impact. Bright, bold and flattering, wear it with minimal eye makeup, or just eyeliner. This liquid lipstick won't budge. Prep your lips with balm first, wait 15 minutes, apply, and you are set for the night. Or day, if you like me, wear red at all times. £14.35
