Superdrug B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser £6.99

Affordable, hardworking and widely available, B. Clean Melting Cleansing Gel takes off dirt and makeup in seconds and leaves the skin soft and moisturised.

Best for: Normal to dry skin, although we've tested it on oily too and the verdict was 'top notch'. Effective on mascara and eyeliner too, so you don't need an extra product to take off eye makeup.

Peta approved, BRYT Skincare is free from parabens, petrochemicals, sulphates, silicones, phthalates and GM ingredients and uses ethically sourced and organic ingredients wherever possible. This foaming cleanser comes with a muslin mitt and takes off makeup in seconds. I also like the scent: subtle and fresh. BRYT cleanse can be purchased from Waitrose, Fenwick, independent shops and online.

Best for: Normal to oily and combination skin and for those who like to keep their skincare as natural, organic as possible. We love a cleanser that comes with a muslin as it helps getting rid of dirt and makeup faster whilst gently exfoliating.

I'm a big fan of cleansing oils as they literally melt makeup and grime in seconds whilst leaving the skin soft and moisturised. I'm a bigger fan of those that have a short list of ingredients, such as this cleanser by Purepotions. This 100% natural and vegan oil only uses four in fact: sunflower seed oil, rosehip oil, and calendula flower oil. It has a natural and subtle smell, works fast and melts without leaving a greasy residue.

Best for: Dry, sensitive and allergy prone skin and for those who like their products to be as natural as possible.

Soil Association approved and 99% organic, award winning Skin Revivals Organic Facial Cleansing Oil is free from mineral oils, colours, preservatives and fragrance. This thick oil removes impurities leaving the skin squeaky clean and moisturised. Best used with a muslin.

Best for: Dry and mature skin. It's fantastic in all year around, but particularly during the colder months when the epidermis needs extra TLC.

With purifying birch bark and anti-bacterial MicroSilver ™, pumice stone and rice bran, this cleanser gently exfoliates as it gets rid of makeup, impurities and grime. Tea tree adds astringent and anti-bacterial properties and gives it a light scent. As it contains micro granules, it's not suitable to remove eye makeup.

Best for: This is brilliant for oily and acne prone skin as it acts on problem areas without drying or stripping the epidermis of its natural oils. The addition of coffee seeds helps refining enlarged pores.
